MAC address is used to identify and differentiate multiple BluOS players that are in Hotspot mode during a large installation. MAC address is also required if you are setting DHCP reservations for your players on your network router.
Like all internet-based products, a unique MAC address is assigned to the network interface cards of BluOS players.
BluOS players have two different MAC addresses:
- One for the wired Ethernet network card
- One for the wireless network card
Note: Bluesound VAULT models have only one MAC address – for the wired ethernet network card, as these players do not support wireless connections. For more information on their network capabilities, refer to this Help Center article.
The MAC address of the connected network card (wired-ethernet/wireless) is displayed in the BluOS Controller App.
