BluOS Players such as VAULT, NAD M50.2, or NAD M50 with an attached M52 have a hard drive and act as a Network Attached Storage (NAS).
Some of the most common causes for unexpected music collection loss are data corruption, hardware failure, accidental deletion of data, and such. Servicing or replacing the BluOS Player may also result in loss of data, and BluOS cannot always guarantee the safe return of your music collection after service.
To prevent losing your music collection inadvertently, we recommend performing a regular backup of your music library.
Backup can be performed using a storage drive via the BluOS Controller app or a computer.
BluOS Controller app
This method is performed in the BluOS Controller App using an external USB storage drive with a storage capacity of 2TB* connected to the BluOS Player.
Important:
- This method formats the external USB storage drive and clears all its contents. This makes the storage drive compatible to back up the BluOS device’s music files that are in the EXT4 file system.
- EXT4 file system cannot be accessed from Windows or macOS.
- You can view the progress of formatting, backup, or restoration in the BluOS Controller App. You may continue to use the player while these processes are in progress in the background.
