From local favourites to global broadcasts and trending podcasts, with the release of BluOS version 4.14.9, users now have access to over 85,000 radio stations and 105,000 podcasts from around the world, all available directly in the BluOS Controller App.
BluOS Controller App
- On the BluOS Controller app select Radio under Music Services for these options:
- Most popular stations (sorted by country)
- Your current country
- Popular
- Recently added
- Latest changes
- Featured stations
- Genres
- Cities
- Local stations
- Podcasts
- Popular
- Comedy
- News
- Sciences
- Sports
- Education
- Religion
- Arts
- Travel/Tourism
- Video Games
- Genres
- Location
- While you can play, and get information on, any of the many choices shown above, you must create an airable.fm account (as explained below) and log in and connect your BluOS player to that account to favourite any and all of the above choices in the BluOS Controller app.
- Once you connect a BluOS player to your airable.fm account on the BluOS Controller app, select Radio under Music Services to also see your favourites:
- Favourites
- Stations – E.g., your “BBC Stations” directory as explained below:
- Personal Streams
- Recently listened
- Podcasts
- Stations – E.g., your “BBC Stations” directory as explained below:
- Favourites
- Your favourites in the BluOS app also appear under your content on the airable portal.
Getting Connected
The BluOS Radio Music Service requires an airable.fm account that connects to your BluOS player(s) and remains synchronized within the BluOS app.
- Select Manage next to Music Services in the BluOS Controller app.
- Select Radio under Music Services.
- Click the Login button.
- Click “Create new account”.
- Enter your email address.
- Enter a password and then re-enter it to confirm.
- Agree to the terms of use.
- Click the Register button.
- Click the link in the email sent to confirm and verify your email address.
- Once your account is created, log into the Radio Music Service on the BluOS Controller app with your credentials.
- You will be prompted to connect your device to your airable.fm account. Only one device slot is used for all BluOS players on the network.
- Click the Yes connect button.
airable Portal
- Visit https://airable.fm/ on a browser and log into your account with the email address and password used above.
- The default page (airable.fm/content/stations) shows your favourite stations under “Your content”. If you are new to the airable Radio service, your list of stations will be empty.
- Click Stations or Podcasts on the top menu.
- You can select a station or podcast from the choices presented on the respective page and add it to your favourites and/or preview the station. Any related stations, substations, and podcasts are also shown under each station.
- You can search for stations and podcasts by entering criteria into the respective search box that includes drop down selections for geographic origin, genre, and language.
- You can favourite stations and podcasts from the respective search results by clicking the star icon next to the station or podcast.
- Your favourite stations appear under your content at airable.fm/content/stations.
- Your favourite podcasts appear under your content at airable.fm/content/podcasts.
- You can create and name a new directory for your stations and podcasts by clicking “New directory” and then renaming it (to, e.g., “BBC Stations” as shown above).
- Select your stations or podcasts by ctrl-clicking them and then click “Move” and select the directory you just created.
- Click Streams under your content (https://airable.fm/content/streams) to add personal streams.
- Click Devices on the top menu to see your connected devices. Note the device limit of 20. The currently registered BluOS player is displayed there.
- You can remove devices (from https://airable.fm/devices) or add a device using a connect code (not necessary for BluOS players).
