TIDAL's Music Format Update on July 24th
Starting July 24, 2024, TIDAL will no longer support MQA and 360 Reality Audio formats. Instead, TIDAL will switch to using FLAC for stereo sound and Dolby Atmos for immersive audio experiences.
Impact on Your Music Collection
For BluOS users, this change means that any content previously using MQA in your playlists, favorites, and music collection will automatically be replaced with FLAC versions. The FLAC versions will closely match the quality of the original files, maintaining a high-quality listening experience.

BluOS Update
To accommodate these changes, BluOS will be updated. This update will include modifications to the BluOS Controller App’s - TIDAL Authorization screen, where you can determine the quality of the content you wish to stream. Given the variability in network quality that users may experience, we have decided to set the default Streaming Quality setting from the previous "MQA" quality to “CD (16-bit up to 48 kHz)” quality. This decision is intended to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted listening experience across different network conditions.
Adjusting BluOS - TIDAL Streaming Quality
If you prefer a different Streaming Quality setting, you will be able to easily update it on the TIDAL Authorization screen of the BluOS Controller App. This will allow you to customize your streaming quality according to your preferences and network capabilities.
