iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 Update: Managing Local Network Privacy for BluOS Controller app
With the introduction of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 updates, Apple mandates that all apps must seek user permission before discovering and establishing connections with Internet of Things (IoT) devices within the local network. This local network privacy feature aims to provide greater transparency when apps attempt to interact with devices within your home network.
The BluOS Controller App requires local network access to detect and control BluOS products on the local network.
When the BluOS Controller App prompts for local network access during the initial launch of the App, select OK. If you select Don’t Allow or disable local network access during setup or later, this will disable the BluOS Controller App to scan or connect to BluOS products on the local network.
To manually allow local network access for the BluOS Controller App on iPhone or iPad, perform the following steps:
- On iPhone or iPad, launch the Settings. The Settings screen is displayed.
- Tap on Privacy > Local Network. The Local Network screen is displayed.
- Toggle to enable BluOS.
