With the release of the BluOS 3.14 firmware upgrade, all BluOS players can now function as Spotify Connect devices with both Spotify Premium and Spotify Free accounts.
If Spotify App still displays Premium users only under Spotify Connect for your BluOS player, please upgrade the BluOS firmware of the player.
BluOS uses Spotify Connect – one stream per account. You can stream from any Spotify account to BluOS Player on the same network as the Spotify app.
- Each Spotify profile can stream to only one device simultaneously. You can sign in to your Spotify profile on as many devices as you require, but attempting to stream music simultaneously on another BluOS Player or device automatically pauses the music on the first Player or device.
- Sharing the same Spotify profile (shared username/password) with different members may lead them to play/stop music on BluOS Players inadvertently.
Alternatively, you can use Duo/Family Premium plan or multiple Individual plans to stream music from multiple profiles to the BluOS Player without affecting the playback for other users.
BluOS Controller App does not store any Spotify credentials. Spotify only authenticates the Player currently selected on Spotify Connect.
You can also group multiple BluOS Players to stream music from one Individual account to all grouped Players. For more information, refer to our Help Center article.
- Spotify Free account has certain limitations in playback. For more information, refer to the Spotify website.
