When you connect a USB drive or network share to your BluOS Player, the BluOS Controller app must create an index for the connected music library. This index functions as a guide for the BluOS Controller app, enabling it to efficiently locate and play each song within your music library, ensuring a seamless playback experience.
Upon connecting a USB drive or network share, the indexing process will initiate automatically, and the Status Indicator LED on the associated player will change to White. When the indexing procedure is complete, the Status Indicator LED returns to a steady blue, and you will gain access to your connected library.
Reindex Music Collection
If you make modifications to your library, the BluOS Controller app will involve a reindexing process to acknowledge the alterations. During reindexing, your music library will be scanned for any newly added, deleted, or updated files, ensuring that these changes are incorporated into the BluOS Controller app.
To perform this Reindex music collection, perform the following steps:
Android/iOS - Reindex Music Collection
- Launch the BluOS Controller app, navigate to the Home tab
> Settings button
> Music library.
- Tap Reindex music collection, and shortly afterward, you will observe the real-time progress of the indexing on the same screen.
Windows/macOS - Reindex Music Collection
- Launch the BluOS Controller app; under the left Navigation Drawer, select Settings > Music library.
- Select Reindex music collection, and shortly afterward, you will observe the real-time progress of the indexing on the same screen.
Rebuild Index
If you notice that the changes you have made are not accurately reflected in your library after conducting a Reindex music collection, you can attempt to resolve this by deleting and subsequently recreating the index through a Rebuild Index operation.
Note: The Rebuild Index option may require significantly more time to complete compared to a regular reindex music collection, but it ensures that all modifications made to your music library are properly detected and incorporated by the BluOS application.
To perform this Rebuild Index, perform the following steps:
Android/iOS - Rebuild Index
- Launch the BluOS Controller app and navigate to the Home tab
- Under the Help & Support section, tap Diagnostics > Rebuild Index.
Windows/macOS - Rebuild Index
- In the BluOS Controller App, under the left Navigation Drawer, select Help > Diagnostics.
- Click Rebuild Index.
